We are set to have an eventful year. We are starting with addition of new classes. Variety is the spice of life, the enemy of boredom and the pathway to adaptability. 

Strength, endurance, co-ordination, mobility and grit! Are all the wonderful attributes that you will continually pick up attending a mix of our classes.

Who do you know that would benefit from an Exercise Physiologist?
 I am hoping over the last several months you have seen Dylan from Longevity Exercise Physiology in the gym or even had a great chat with him.  Maurizio Bottaro brings us more than 25 years experience as a remedial massage therapist. His years of experience have given him the privilege of working with a multitude of people and injuries. He has worked with Gold Medal winning water polo players, Olympians, Boxers and a variety of other sports and professions active (and not so active). We certainly welcome the new traffic lights at the corner out the front of the gym. As it has been a hazardous intersection for years attracting a variety of accidents. With the change in traffic conditions we have seen a little conflict. Namely the change in parking around the intersection.

PLEASE BE AWARE!!!1. The space between 2 driveways out the front of Kenards Storage is “NO STOPPING”

Dylan Furey joins the At Ruben’s Team as our in house Exercise Physiologist.

Accredited Exercise Physiologists are university qualified allied health professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.

Blink and another Summer is gone. The silly season is well and truly over, we are back at work and school and we can settle into a routine and pattern. The more of a routine and pattern we can consolidate the more likely you are to keep going when it starts to get cold and dark.

We’re committed to keep building energy, excitement and expertise into every class and session.

As we embark on our 5th year providing health and fitness services to Marrickville and surrounding suburbs we hope to give you the best year yet!

The heat and humidity has hit with fury in November! We get to enjoy more daylight, more heat, more energy more fun! With that we’ve got to listen more intently to our bodies as we will dehydrate quicker and be distracted by the busy holiday season and lifestyle of late nights, food and drinks. If you listen to your body when it whispers you won’t have to hear it scream. Be aware to increase water intake, aim for quality sleep and eat whole foods. This will ensure maximum energy levels, bounce back and real human interactions.

Before we get too carried away with the Christmas season, I’d like to say thank you for all your time energy and support. We’ve had a fun year, let’s finish it off with positive energy!

As the temperature goes up in Summer water intake MUST go up also. Optimum cardiovascular performance, metabolism and general health require require optimum water intake.

What to aim for per day…. 1 glass of water per 7 kilograms of bodyweight. I.e. if you weigh 70kg that means you drink 10 glasses (approx. 2.5 litres) of water per day.  

Like anything in life, the more you focus on something the better it gets (and the less you focus on something the quicker it deteriorates). Bring a little thought and focus to your water intake over the next couple of months, you’ll be amazed how different you feel.


Over the course of the year, we have slowly accumulated towels jumpers, jewellery and water bottles.
